SAN is one of the few companies with capabilities to design & manufacture transmissions, gear boxes, power packs and locomotives. The company also does servicing and repair of locomotives and its components.

The company’s manufacturing facilities are located at Bangalore and Mysore, Karnataka. The Bangalore facility looks after maintenance, repair and overhaul of transmissions and final drives of diesel hydraulic locomotives while the Mysore facility does refurbishing and repair work of gear boxes and cardan shafts.
